When a leg or arm cannot be saved, we have a team of amputation experts that take a very positive and optimistic approach to amputation as a reconstructive procedure designed to return the individual to his or her previous level of function.  We are experienced in all types of specialized procedures, and we have skilled prosthetists, therapists, rehab specialists (physiatrists) as well as psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to make the amputation experience as positive as possible.   

We also have ongoing research on osteointegration which may allow the prosthetic device to be connected directly to the bone without the bulky prosthetic sockets needing to be used.
